Competition of ideas for the planning of Oedenburgerstrasse
With Einszueins Architektur Wien
Vienna, Austria, 2012
FINALIST
The competition of ideas for the planning of the suburban area of Oedenburgerstrasse (Vienna) sought to provide a solution to 4 areas of urban planning: planning, mobility, free space and construction.
We proposed a matrix that linked said areas to our objectives for the new development of the area: diversity, porosity, identity, process and management.
By marking this ‘course of action’ we create a framework of actions to deal with the surburban problem.
The matrix is not immovable, but on the contrary. If we cut out ‘the actions’ they become independent pieces of information, which are interchangeable and rearrangeable by the rest of the experts.
The matrix thus becomes an open cloud of information, and, in turn, a discussion tool for all the parties involved in the urban planning.
