‘Canalizing’ was a workshop on the revitalization of the Irwell River in Manchester. We used a scale model like a board game; the model is not a final product, but one stage of the work process.

 

 

Divided into work groups, we made specific interventions in potential areas by the river. Later we put them into practice, linking them to each other; the confrontational debate brings complexity, variety and vitality to the proposal. This work method calls into question the current way of planning, based on a single design to address all of the urban development.
