International competition for Young architects Europan 08
With Joaquín Esperón
Alcazar de San Juan, Spain, 2005
SECOND PRIZE
The delicate situation between a suburban area and a valuable natural surrounding induces a great dilemma: who colonizes whom?
An invasive strategy is proposed: A flooding symmetric to the grid of the expansion. The green environment is converted into the positive element of the project. The city is seen as a subtraction which is ruled by nature, it appears as a remaining entity, a negation, resulting from the determination of the natural spaces.
