The new suburban contexts of the metropolitan areas of Madrid (“P.A.U.s”, “polígonos”, etc.) are presented as sets of unconnected elements, even openly competing against each other for attracting attention. Be it homes, offices, shops or any other use, they are all unconnected buildings that seek differentiation from the rest by affirming their personality. The buildings somehow become advertising claims. And the urban structure, a mere addition of objects.
